Our Work
Founded in 2008, the Community Advocates Public Policy Institute has as its primary goal a dramatic reduction in the level of poverty in Milwaukee and Wisconsin.
To this end, we work closely with many individuals and organizations in Milwaukee, throughout Wisconsin, and across the nation to design and put in place specific practical policy changes that will greatly lower poverty.
While the Institute’s primary task is reducing poverty itself, we also seek to reduce the many frustrations and burdens that the poor face as they navigate through life. We are thus committed to working closely with other advocates to ensure that low-income individuals can easily obtain affordable health insurance, addiction treatment, mental health services and housing, as well as quality education for their children.
